Aircraft Structures & FEA

Structural engineering and finite element analysis for aircraft and UAV airframes — from loads and sizing to metallic and composite structural substantiation.

Overview

Structures translate aerodynamic and inertial loads into an airframe that is strong, stiff and light enough for the mission. Kesari develops the structural concept and substantiates it with analysis.

We work in both metallic and composite airframes, with attention to manufacturing feasibility from the outset.

What we support

Aircraft and UAV structural analysis — as a dedicated FEA service or within full airframe development.

Engineering scope

  • Aircraft and UAV loads
  • Structural sizing
  • Metallic and composite structures
  • Finite element analysis (FEA)
  • Stiffness and strength assessment
  • Modal / dynamic analysis
  • Structural substantiation
  • Weight optimisation

Our engineering environment includes open-source and specialist aerospace tools such as OpenVSP/VSPAERO, SU2, XFLR5 and Python, complemented by industry-standard commercial CFD, FEA and CAD environments where project or client-provided licensed access is available. Methodology, verification strategy and aircraft-level design decisions remain primary; software is selected according to programme requirements and available licensed environments.

Typical inputs

  • Configuration geometry and layout
  • Loads / flight envelope
  • Material and manufacturing constraints
  • Aerodynamic load data

Typical deliverables

  • Loads and internal-load distributions
  • FE models and analysis reports
  • Sizing and margins of safety
  • Modal / stiffness results
  • Structural definition for manufacturing

Where it fits in aircraft development

Structural work depends on aerodynamic and inertial loads and feeds manufacturing engineering and ground/flight-test substantiation — a core link in the development chain.

Why Kesari

Composite and metallic structural experience combined with digital analysis, kept honest by margins, verification and manufacturing feasibility rather than analysis alone.
